In the Treaty of Versailles there were four main parts. First was the War Guilt Clause where Germany should take the blame for the outbreak of the Great War. Second was the reparations where Germany had to pay “6,600 million pounds for the damage caused by the war”. Third was the disarmament where it stated that Germany was only allowed to have a small Army and six naval ships, also they were unable to have tanks, air forces, or submarines. I believe that the state's felt like they were walking on eggshells whenever they felt the responsibility to fight back. Because the Great War devastated Europe and nearly wiped out a whole generation, the states did not want anything like that to happen to Europe again. Hitler got away with what he did in the beginning for this reason, Britain and France did not want to try to stop him with the possibility of war to break out. On september 1st 1939 Hitler invades Poland from the west and after that Britain and France declare war on Germany and so the Second World War begins (“Causes of...timeline). Now people begin to question why Britain and France went to war and according to Professor Richard
