The Vulnerability of the Internet and Technology
There’s no doubt that security has advanced immensely since the introduction of computers, and the internet has been around, but has the security been able to keep up with how we handle computers now? We read occasionally how huge websites or companies have been hacked into and it seems that many people have found the trick around what we call ‘decent’ security. If those big names are so easily hacked into, what did they do wrong? And also, how vulnerable is the rest of the internet, including social media, and online transactions, even how you connect through the internet involving routers. With that stated, it is also one of the most vulnerable places people could be at. The main thing people do on there is put a picture of yourself friends, family, numerous facts about yourself, where you live, and much more. All of this information is used one way or another to find a way into their account, and use it for anything, more information, getting into their computer, or anything else they feel it will be useful to use and there are numerous ways they could go about doing that. All they have to do is have a small bit of connection to them, whether that being their friend, or a friend of a friend, all they need is some small gap in which they could gain access to their information. “Along with that, there are four main types of hacking that people use on Facebook: phishing, malicious script scams, click jacking, and session hijacking.” ("Grad Student Exposes Vulnerabilities of Social Media | Columbian College of Arts & Sciences | The George Washington University"). That list could be a lot longer than those four also, it just shows how many different ways hackers and others are able to get into others things without much hassle at
