From the tax, social security only takes 5%. This means that it does not take a large portion of our tax income. I do have to disagree with the fact that the video says individuals are willing to pay for the healthcare of the elderly. I would have to disagree because if the people cared about the elderly people retirement, then why are they struggling whiling living on it at most a 100$ a month because rent and insurance takes it majority. I know social security provides for the elderly and children, but it doesn’t let them enjoy their life. I know a woman whom is living off her social security. First off, she only receives 900. 500 goes to her rent, 100 she needs for her phone to keep in contact with her family. So, she has 300 to last for a month. Well she doesn’t drive and she can’t travel far and because of this she shops at local groceries. This is an issue because their prices are higher than the average. She also has personal hygiene to worry about to. The time I known her, she hasn’t spent a dollar to eat healthy because a pack of potatoes that usually cost $2.50, in her location it’s about $5. This is a shock because this means, many of the baby boomers will rely on social security. Another shocking information is that more Americans are filing bankruptcy than graduating college. This shows that money is a big factor on living expenses. One important info in this video is they want individual to distinguish need and want. This is important to me because without it, I will probably not have enough for retirement. I would want my retirement filled with my want and so I shall live in the need
