What are the values and shortcomings of the Cell Phones?
Out of the many accessories we have in today’s world, you will hardly miss someone with a mobile phone. The cell phone is no longer a luxury, as it was in the yesteryears, or a preserve of the rich and well-to-do members of the society but rather a ‘must-have’ necessity across the board. Their ubiquity notwithstanding, should the benefits of ever-increasing cellular connectivity outweigh the many negative and sometimes unforeseen consequences of their proliferation?

Accidents have occurred on the roads when drivers were busy talking or texting while driving. On the other hand, the same phones have been used to call for emergency help and at times lives have been saved. Face to face conversations have been replaced with chatting and text messaging on the social media, affecting relationships and the way we interact with one another. Cheating in exams have increased. During break times, most of the kids with phones seclude themselves in corners playing video games instead of mingling with their colleagues. The fascination that comes with new phone upgrades with new features has seen a rise in customers jumping into the fray to have the latest phones notwithstanding the exorbitant price tag it comes with. The need to have more space and newer features keeps consumers on a never-ending spree to stay up to date with ever changing technology. Regardless of all these, phones are rewarding and hurting
