According to the U.S. department of Health and Human Services, “1 in 4 American” have no primary provider and “1 in 5 Americans” including children are unable to be insured. The health of an individual cannot be justified for the simple fact that they eat healthily and therefore do not need health care. Insures gives one access to see a primary care provider for a checkup, which falls within the preventive intervention in health care. In any case, we will still need insurance despite how healthy we may be. Most teens are expected to have insurance through their parents, with the inability of most American who have no health care, prevent some of the teens from being insured. I believe the most impactful determinant is access to health care because we need to have to maintain a healthy living style; access to health care also means assessable to health insurance. Moreover, without health care, one will not be able to have access to preventive care. As stated in Knickman and Kovner (2015) “helping people avoid the onset of a health condition including, injuries” In a situation of an illness the health care will help the ongoing situation.
