Initial Reaction I have to admit, I had a sigh of relief and actually looked forward to having a different approach with my writing assignment for the week. In a moment, our lives are changed and what we thought was important, is no longer a priority. We then immediately recognize that the things we were doing for ourselves have no purpose or meaning. Morrie mentions that we should devote yourself to the community and in becoming creative and more loving with the people in and around our lives. I agree wholeheartedly and have witnessed this kind of love first hand. I had the honor to go on a medical mission trip. They had nothing. The love and support that they gave to each other moved me so deeply and taught me that materialistic things or having enough money truly does not bring peace to our souls. It is the caring compassionate love that we give and received from one another that brings fulfillment and satisfaction within.

Tuesday with Morrie resonates with so many people because the story connects with real life. We all love to have our hand held or feel a warm hug. A simple nurturing touch to the elderly will convey a message that strengthens a relationship when there is a loss for words.
