TSI develops operating systems for different organization and these operating systems work well for clients, given that they have a certain small size purpose. However, the operating system TSI OS does not work well for the TSI office. They decided to use the same operating system similar to the ones that the clients use. While these operating systems developed by TSI work very well for small purposes like controlling drones for the military, they lack some features to allow TSI developers and employees to do their work effectively. Below is a section that describes the issues that Top Secret Inc. is facing in their office.
1. Lack of Multitasking
The office of TSI needs to be able to multitask. They don’t have …show more content…
Lack of Virtual Memory
Virtual memory is an issue in TSI office because they have to reboot the operating system whenever it crashes due to low memory issues.
5. Compatibility Issues
At the TSI office, they face an issue of software compatibility due to the fact that the TSI OS does not have an advanced or normal system call interface.
6. Security
Security is one of the major issues faced by the TSI office. Everyone who has access to their network password can easily access the information on the server. This is due to the lack of any security for login (they operate based on sensor input).
7. Lack of Device Drivers
The office of TSI also faces issues of lack of device drivers. It is easy to write drivers for clients, as mentioned above, because the operating systems they develop are very small and does not require many device drivers. For a whole company that develops all those operating system, they have an issue of writing all the device drivers necessary.
8. Data Storage
The TSI office has a problem of storing their data. It all resides on external hard-drives, due to the fact that the TSI OS does not have all the necessary device drivers.

Lack of Security Measure: Plagiarism
TSI OS lacks security measures and this would affect us so much. We keep students’ projects and they are only accessed by staff members. If we had a system like TSI OS, students would access each other’s work and commit plagiarism. This would not only affect the students, but it would affect Kepler’s reputation. Using the TSI OS, we would be required to keep all the students’ data on separate hard drives and this would reduce our productivity because we would not be able to access the students’ data at the same time. Lack of Multitasking Capabilities: Failure in Reporting
TSI OS does not support multitasking. This would not only affect our productivity, but I cannot think of Kepler without things like advanced scheduling: office hours, class times, work-shops. Additionally, staff members rely on each other’s data for reports. If the registrar does not provide payment information, the finance team would not be able to report. Such a system that requires only one task to be done at a time would consume our time and reports would delay
