The Trojan war has a lot of truth to the story most of the information we have gotten about the Trojan War comes from two poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. We do not know how true this information is because these epic poems were written a long time after the real Trojan War happened. Archaeologists know troy had nine layers of construction and the war happened on the seventh layer (Morkot). Archaeologists figured this out when they discovered the city of troy they were digging and realized that there where more than one layer and when they found the seventh layer they realized that the seventh layer was description to troy in the epic poems. There are many cool parts to the Trojan War but the one part that people seem to love the most is the myths to it. Since we the many records first recorded of the trojan war have been lost but historians have narrowed the truths from the myths down pretty far. One myth they are almost a hundred percent sure about is the actual Trojan Horse. Or the story of the golden apple. The golden apple is a very unique story. There was a party being held and all the gods and goddesses were invited except for one Eris. Eris the goddess of discord sent a golden apple to the party inscribed to the most beautiful. Three goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. Paris out cast prince of troy gave it to Aphrodite after she promised him Helen who is the greek king Menelaus wife.
