Like you heard earlier the building of the Titanic started on March 31, 1909 by Hard & Wolf. Titanic’s sister Olympic, had set sail three months before the Titanic. The Titanic had 15,000 workers working on her. About three million iron and steel rivets were used. It was 822 feet long and eleven stories.

First class had all the luxury. Second class on the other hand was a step down. Second class only had two rooms to see each other. They had a dining room and a promenade. Most of the second class passengers were teachers, merchants, and professionals of moderate. A second class ticket back then cost 60 dollars. Now a days a second class ticket would cost 1,375 dollars. Third class was the worst of the three. Most of the people in the third class were just trying to get to America and start a new life. All third class had was a general room which was a talking room. They had no dining room, no nothing. A third class ticket back then cost $15-40. Today it cost $350-900. On April 10, 1912, the journey started in Southampton, England and was going to New York City. When the titanic was pulling out of the dock, it was inches away from hitting another boat. Wouldn’t you think that is a bad sign? When they got out in the Atlantic ocean the California kept reporting icebergs and packed ahead. The Titanic got seven warnings from the California. The messenger of the Titanic was John George Phillips. John got so tired of listening to the warnings that he turned off the radio! When the was turned off seven more messages to the Titanic. One of them was that the California had stopped because it was surrounded by icebergs. At 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912, the Titanic was hit a iceberg on right side. It took the Titanic four days
