The moral theory of Utilitarianism is defined as to be that an action is only good only if it brings happiness to others. There are three sub principles that define the theory of Utilitarianism, Principle one talks about how consequences are all that matter in a situation or an action, that the final outcome/ results are those that matter. The second principle states that happiness is the only thing that matters and that we seek for pleasure more often and we hate to have pain. In a utilitarian mind you should always seek for happiness no matter what the cost is. I think that we aren’t build as humans just to be too conceded to only think about ourselves. In a scenario if you were given 20 billion dollars and to live alone with a dog or to continue living your normal life, the Utilitarian answer would be to take the 20 billion dollars because it would make you happy. As a human we basically cannot be happy without the relations we have built in life and having your love ones around you. Even though we are presented with absolute pleasure we still have our side of humanity where we think of the fact that sometimes we need to experience pain in order to be able to grow as a human being. How will you ever experience pain if everything is given to you in life? Being at your lowest point in life is what you need sometimes to be able to remember that you are human and that you can fight your way through tough times. Pain in life reminds us that pleasure isn’t the only thing that matters in life, it is how you make use of what you have is what matters. Pleasure doesn’t bring happiness to everyone or actions of people do not just happen to make them happen. Everyone have a different life and meaning to their life. Some are chasing their dreams and trying to earn everything to get in life. Even though we avoid pain as humans sometimes pain is what we need in order to be stronger than before and to learn from our past and mistakes. All situations shouldn’t be considered equally because some people deserve to be heard and the reasons behind their actions.
