First, there was Bob. Bob, a childhood friend of John and is 25 years old. His marriage is almost to the point of divorce. Bob is a sack of potatoes. He’s a slacker who never does anything. Everyday is the same, laying on his couch showing his laziness. He’s a good-for-nothing goof-off. If you didn’t knew him, most likely you probably would mistake him as a bum. His teeth are very yellow. He’s very young, however you could mistake him as an old man. He has extremely deep wrinkles on his face. Mainly because of his poor hygiene. The next thing you notice about Bob is his horrible smell. The smell to him is so bad that if you come into contact with the smell that it will probably clog up your nose. You won’t be able to smell for months. Yes, the smile is that bad. He smells like a dead skunk that has been laying on the road for about days or even weeks. Larry is a 30 year old man who is best friends with John. Larry is the “Moma’s boy.” His mother could call him at anytime of and day and he would drop his whole life for her. It doesn’t matter what he is doing. He would stop what he is doing and immediately rush to his mother side. Every time his wife cooks something he compares it to his mother’s cooking. Often times, his mother would go over to his house and do his laundry for him. He calls her about any and everything. He checks in with his mother more than he does his own wife. Every time his wife and mother disagrees on something he takes his mother’s side. His mother is always showing up to his house unexpectedly. It’s as if he has no privacy. Most importantly, he feels like he always has to make her happy. He feels guilt when she isn’t happy. Even if it means undermining his wife to make his mother happy, he would do it. This is the main issue in their marriage. His wife points out to him that he needs to become his own man and be more independent. If he fails to comply, he’s risking losing her altogether. She feels like she is constantly competing with his mother for his attention, time, love, and etc. It’s going to come a time where he has has to choose between his mom and wife is he doesn’t loosen his mother’s grip on his life.
