Definition:
The Russian Revolution is actually two events in Russia, that took place in 1917. The Revolution took down the Tsar who had controlled Russia since 1440. The Emperor, also called the Tsar, was forced to quit, and a new government was formed. The government that was formed was called the Provisional Government.
Significance:
In the first event of the revolution, 2 groups formed, the new Provisional Government and the Soviets, workers council. While both groups tried to rule it didn’t work very well. Many protests and strikes occurred. The Soviets, later called the Bolsheviks, (workers council) turned worker militias into Red Guards which later became the Red Army became stronger and had better control.
In the
