The three works that I chose to write about for my final paper for this class are the “Way to Wealth” (1758) by Benjamin Franklin “The Raven” by Edger Allan Poe and “The legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving. The reason that I chose to write about these three pieces is that they really stuck out to me the most in this class. The Way to Wealth stuck out to me one because I had never read it before so it was nice to read something new and it also made me think about what the word wealth actually means. Then I picked The Raven because it is one of my favorite of Edger Allan Poe’s work I love most of his work but The Raven is definitely my favorite. The last that I picked as I said earlier is The Legend …show more content…
It is not that it is a bad piece I have always heard about the story and always wanted to read it but never did and I do not think I would read it again. It is a creepy and dreary story and just unsettling but that is why I wanted to write about it. I do believe everyone should read it at least once in their life because reading new things is always good because you will not know what you like until you try. For one thing, why is he the only one to be able to see him? I mean yes I get that this story is fiction but I think he is just crazy because back then people did not know much about mental issues and all this story sounds like is that he I …show more content…
But if all these authors can do it so can I can I think that is one thing I like about reading is that it gives you a little bit of courage they teach you that it is okay to put your thoughts out there no matter what people say. That is what they do and you no people where and still are judging their works. I guess that is one reason I like taking English or literature classes because you learn to be brave and you can have adventures through reading. So all pieces that I chose to write about that we had to read in your class this semester made me enjoy reading even ore then I already did. “The Raven” “The way to Wealth” and “The legend of Sleepy Hollow” will be pieces that stick with me for the rest of my life because of their meanings and the symbolism behind them. I truly believe everyone should read all of these pieces because at least one of them will have an effect on your
