The protestant Reformation took place in the 16th century in Europe (“Reformation”). The Protestant Reformation of 16th century Europe was primarily the result of three men and their disagreements with the Catholic Church; Martin Luther, John Calvin, and King Henry the VIII forever changed the religious landscape of Europe.
Martin Luther was the founder of the Protestant church (“Reformation”). Martin Luther was raised in a working class, religious family and his father was a miner (“Reformation”). Henry was known to contain the modern development of Great Britain through his actions(“Reformation”). Henry the VIII was the second son to Elizabeth of York, and Henry’s older brother had died unexpectedly in 1502(“Reformation”). Upon Henry’s dad's death, Henry the VIII took eir to the throne of England in 1509. Henry the VII had left England in a good state by ending possible destructive civil war acts (“Reformation”). Henry the VIII wanted to divorce his first wife because he kept having girls, and the problem with that is he wanted to have a boy to eir the throne after his death(“Reformation”). The pope did not allow Henry the VIII to divorce his wife because it was against the christian law(“Reformation”). Henry the VIII made his own religion called the Anglican religion(“Reformation”).
