RFID is a software system that keeps track of confidential information being dispersed throughout the hospital and satellite centers. For example, this software allows transfer of data from our satellite hospital from California to Philadelphia. Traditional PACS system can take up to days before patient information is transferred. RFID is self-operated, it learns and adapts accordingly and no need of human intervention. According to technical staff of RFID at my hospital, the software can be reprogrammed, adjusted and tweaked as per needed. RFID offer accurate and real time data and ability to track various information and data throughout the organization. Customized product for patients and proper investment in can reduce the healthcare organization expenses. If not, a lot of money can is going to be wasted on unnecessary equipment’s and features. Hospitals usually purchase products with features that are not required medically or legally. They also have to careful that do purchase few or wrong components. Some Healthcare institutions bloat about their budgets with expensive products and services. These organizations need find strategies to lower costs or alternatives to meet customer’s requirement. Maintaining excessive inventory is a chronic disease within healthcare industry. There are alternatives to achieving proper availability of inventory, rather than dealing with unnecessary costs of stockpile products. It begins with the creation of proper tracking of products, from every supply chain within the hospital.
