Unlike Clinton, Fiorina has a clean slate in the political realm; this is attractive to many supporters (Livengood & Nann Burke, 2015). Her endorsements and Facebook biography are quite impressive. She is a Stanford graduate, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, and chairwomen for multiple organizations (Facebook 2015). With this impressive resume, one would think donors are eager to donate to this fresh face in politics. In actuality, Fiorina is not harnessing enough Republican support. Apparently, many GOP donors view Fiorina as a “side bet”. Although some notorious Republican donors appear on Fiorina’s finance report, they only donate small amounts (Schleifer, 2015). This media coverage demonstrates the disconnect between candidate owned media and other media platforms. While Fiorina flaunts her support, certain media platforms claim she lacks it. With Fiorina’s current success, digital and legacy media coverage may begin to focus more on the same aspects the candidate owned media
