He questioned the Church ruling, broke away from the Catholic Church, and started a Reformation that transformed almost every life in the world. In the early 16th century, indulgences plagued Europe. Pope Leo X announced brand new indulgences for all Catholics living under the Church’s rule. An already enlightened Luther was outraged at these proposals. Martin Luther stormed to the university’s chapel door and nailed his 95 theses ("Martin Luther Biography"). Luther went against the establishment that controlled the religious lives of many. However, nailing his writing was just one card, of a huge deck. Luther sent the 95 theses to many Archbishop, and; with the help of the printing press, his work spread like wildfire throughout Europe ("Martin Luther Biography"). The “head” of society, or the Church, met with Martin Luther. and in the year 1518 on October, Martin Luther met with Cardinal Thomas Cajetan in Augsburg. Luther was ordered to recant his Ninety-Five Theses. This was authorized by none other than the pope himself. Martin Luther opened the door for new people to believe in what they want to believe in. He questioned the Church, was excommunicated, and help start a revolution. Roman Catholicism reign of terror slowly came to end, and is now one of the most peaceful organization in the world. Martin Luther should not only be looked as a hero, but an inspiration. With Radical Islamist causing terror throughout the world, Martin Luther work and actions can be looked as an opportunity to create peace.
