Along with the cellphones, other events such as the Bush’s administration's invasion of Iraq are what really shaped the 90’s into a decade that everyone knows of. The Gulf war,also known as Operation Desert Storm, was launched by President H.W. Bush and his administration after it was believed that Saddam Hussein, leader of Al Qaeda had weapons of mass destruction. Along with weapons of mass destruction, Iraq had annexed Kuwait and claimed it as their own. After disregarding warnings from the United Nations Security Council, the United States and other allies were called upon to take Kuwait back.
