This makes the audience feel more important as they know their views and ideals will matter. Again, this gains Obama respect. Obama refers to Ann Nixon Cooper throughout his speech as she is 106 years old and has gone through a lot, “... because she was a women and because the colour of her skin.” This shows that she had few rights because she was a woman. This can be linked to Elizabeth I where the rights of women was even less but she was still acknowledged just like Ann Nixon. As time has gone by we see that rights have increased where people like Ann can vote and do things freely. Obama’s cadence increases for words ‘women’ and ‘colour of her skin’ which emphasis how outrageous this discrimination was. We can clearly see that that Obama routes for peace and equality which makes America think they have chosen the right president. This gives Obama more authority as he will not be hated by his own country. On the other hand Bush’s views are completely different as he believes that USA is better than every other country and will go to war to show his
