To get a wider understanding of what sustainable development can mean to Trondheim city, I would like to have a look at a few examples of how sustainable buildings are being built in this city and what these buildings are doing to the community and the environment of the city. I will focus the comparison of case studies on three projects in Trondheim; Powerhouse Brattøra, the Zeb Living Lab and Brøset. These projects are different in a lot of ways, and I will try to explain how they are different as well as which functions each of them are using to become sustainable. This is a great idea, so that the public can gather at one place and the workers that will work in the building won’t have to go far to get lunch or just a break from the office. The building`s location close to the railway station is also good for public transportation of the workers and visitors, so that the need for parking slots at Brattøra don’t need to be such an issue.
