In Natural Science, there are many inventions that were discovered to solve a problem. Many of today’s inventions had many limitations when first unveiled. That is why scientists are always trying to solve them by using reasoning and experimentation to make improvements. For example, the printing press was invented in order to meet the demands of a cheaper way to read a written text such as books and written records used in governments and businesses. In our general life, there is no problem caused by not knowing all the names of stars. So I can say that Galileo discovered the stars not to solve a problem but to satisfy his curiosity. However I thought I should interpret curiosity as a personal problem too. Even though for a majority of people not knowing a star on the sky may be not be a problem, among the Gujarat people of India, horoscopes and alignment of planets dictate when to marry and who to marry. In July of 2015 for example, astrologers in India have advised against marriages because “Jupiter will enter an adverse position in July 2015 and remain there till August 2016”. Therefore for the Gujarat people, not knowing about stars presents a huge nightmare and so the society has respected astrologers who are consulted before marriage plans are made.
