According to the article of EFF (electronic frontier foundation), eff.org states, “News reports in December 2005 first revealed that the National Security Agency (NSA) has been intercepting Americans’ phone calls and Internet communications,” (www.eff.org). The Fourth Amendment protects every American from the invasion of privacy. I do not agree what the NSA is doing because first of all Americans were not aware they were doing this and we do not know how long they have been doing this, they could have been doing this for 50 years and we did not even know. If they are trying to hide this from everybody then there is obviously something wrong with what they are doing. The Nsa is looking through all the content that comes in the country and goes out the country for “security reasons” but have no proof or warrant to allow them to do this. According to theguardian.com, “...the NSA is searching the content of virtually every email that comes and goes out of the United States without a warrant,” (www.theguardian.com). Since this was first reported on by the press and discovered by the public in late 2005…,” (www.eff.org). The NSA has been surveilling Americans since 2005 but the public found out about the NSA spying on America in 2005, the NSA kept this from us for so long because they knew that this was not the Common Good for people. The NSA thinks they are doing the Common Good for people by listening to calls of foreigners talking to people inside of America for our protection but unless they have a probable cause warrant they can not do this and in most cases they do not have a probable cause warrant. According to the article of EFF (electronic frontier foundation), eff.org states, “...the government is mass collecting phone metadata of all US customers under the guise of the Patriot Act.
