I have never questioned in my life, whether or not that I am a girl. I have always accepted that fact that I am a female. I have, however received messages from others about my gender identity before. Some of my friends that are male have said that girls have it better in life than guys which cause a huge controversy. Some males also believe that girls still have the same gender roles as they did back then such as cooking, cleaning, and doing other duties around the house. Some men also do not believe that women should have the same jobs as men do such as being a police officer, the president, or an engineer. My classes have taught me that every student is different based on their cultural background and their family history. Every student has different values, opinions, knowledge, and skills based on their culture. My classes in school have also influenced on my interactions with others and have acceptance of others who have different cultural backgrounds. Since I am a Secondary Education History major, some of my classes have talked about diverse learners and about cultural diversity. I actually think that learning about others’ cultural backgrounds, where they are from, and what beliefs and values others have based on their culture. Watching the news all the time has definitely influenced my views on the world. It seems like all the news talks about now is just negative things that had happened throughout the day and have nothing good to say. As for the future, I believe that if we stop fighting with others and accept others for who they are then the world would be a more peaceful place it just takes time and patience. If this all happens then we will not have that much controversy as we do
