It does not seem like this is because they did not know what they were doing, because they did all the steps with the same level of energy, not just one part they may have forgotten. This is likely because of their experience and/or the style of dance they prefer and have been trained in. This was indicated in the dancer surveys as one of these dancers’ favorite style of dance was tap and the other had had no previous dance experience. Classical tap is very different from this form of jazz dance and may be the reason for one dancer to be less energetic in this style of dance. She may feel uncomfortable, unknowledgeable, or simply does not like this style of dance. The other may not have the experience or the knowledge in dance to feel comfortable dancing like the others. The dancer were waiting for dance class to start by sitting in the waiting area of the athletic center, on the left when you walk in. There were two loveseats, two couches, and one chair in this space. Dance class was scheduled to start at six o’clock.
