Pharmacogenomics is a very similar idea in that medications are individualized based on a patient 's genomic information to improve patient outcome (Cheek, 2013, p. 45). The area of pharmacogenomics is still a growing area of study and according to Cheek (2013), has been currently applied in areas such as antiplatelet therapy, HIV therapy, mental health, and oncology (p.
