It is bad enough hearing about an inmate escaping, but it is very strange when an inmate says they can escape on live television. Bernd Junge, an inmate told 60 Minutes that he could easily escape if he wanted to. Bernd Junge is a convicted murderer, currently serving a life sentence at Waldeck prison in Germany but after fifteen years in prison, Bernd has earned weekend leave for good behavior, which means he gets to visit his family and work every weekend. Without punishing the inmates, they will not necessarily learn from their mistakes which could even lead to committing worse crimes. Also, prisons need to teach inmates wrong from right. Think of it as teaching a baby or child; if the child does an unacceptable action, the guardian should punish the child so it does not become a repeatable mistake. German prisons are sending the wrong message towards all people, which needs to be changed.
In conclusion, many people would agree that German prisons could be causing more problems. Including increasing inmates, high risk of escaping, and sending the wrong message. Many people would also agree that these German prisons should lower the amount of comfort. Therefore, as well as prisons in Berlin,Germany may sound, they can change the history of the prison system in a defective
