The Declaration was a formal statement that said that the 13 North American colonies would officially break away from Great Britain. One of the harshest tales in our history is the Trail of Tears. During his presidency, Jefferson had 4 different Indian tribes from the Louisiana territory removed from their homes. They were force to walk thousands of miles with everything they owned to “indian territory” located on the other side of the Mississippi River. In his eyes, Jefferson was increasing imports, exports, and they nations relations with other countries. He was building America into what it is today without taking into consideration the actions that he had to do to make it happen.
