An example of advantageous in today’s generation would be since I’m black I can say the “N-word” but white people cannot say it because it is offensive. Although, neither races should be using the word because of its history and meaning. It is a form of speech in today’s generation that you hear from peers, favorite rappers, and on the media.
Argumentative discrimination benefits a person directly or a group they belong to and makes a person “defend discrimination” (Scalzi). An example for Argumentative discrimination would be scholarships for the minority when the University is majority Caucasian. Scholarships for the minority are a good thing to those who benefit from it but is looked down upon of those who cannot receive the scholarship.
The final level of discrimination is antagonistic. Antagonistic discrimination is when “you choose to actively set yourself against others due to their differences from you” (Scalzi). An example of antagonistic discrimination is when a person single-handedly separates themselves from another groups due to their race. For example, in the late 1900s, when black students were transferred to all white schools to break segregation differences. Around five black students were moved over at a time. They did not belong in that environment and probably felt unwanted. The racial slurs, and constant stares were uninviting and distasteful.
