Larry Levin lives with his wife and adopted twin sons. The twelve year old twin boys owned a cat who was terminally ill. One day, they brought the cat to Ardmore Animal Hospital near Philadelphia to say their farewells as the cat was going to be put down. Despite the original sadness of the day, the mood was soon lightened when a puppy with a mangled face and only one ear ran up and greeted the family with a wagging tail. The pit bull mix puppy was assumed to have been a drug dealer’s fighting dog who refused to fight and was then used as bait for other dogs during dog fights. Bait dogs are dogs who will not fight and are then thrown to the dogs who will fight, basically to be ripped to shreds and killed. When Oogy was brought into the Ardmore Animal Hospital, he was estimated to be only a few months old. When a police officer found him in an abandoned building, Oogy was alone in a cage and severely injured; he had horrible infections and was left to die. They were not deterred by his abnormal appearance, but rather considered Oogy to be one-of-a-kind. The Levins firmly believe that Oogy saved them more so than them saving Oogy. His presence in their lives has brought happiness along with love. They also consider his companionship to be fate and or destiny; they truly believe that they were meant to end up in each other’s lives. The Levin family has made it their mission to provide Oogy with the opportunity to live the best life that he could possibly live as he is deserving of a second chance at
