During times when fear and stress are present in our lives or we are don’t want to suffer the consequences of a situation we tend to use scapegoating as a method to get out of or avoid the situation. As humans, we seem to always be subconsciously looking for things to scapegoat weather it is for our benefit, their own problems and/or society’s problems as seen in the crucible during the Salem Witch Trials. Although obviously stress plays a large factor in all of these situations when we resort to scapegoating it is something that we all need to be aware that we do so that we don’t do it in the wrong situation because when you are fearful or stressed sometimes you do unpredictable things. Kind of like on “COPS” when the police offices detains the suspects because he found cocaine in the car and they both keep denying at and blaming it on the other person, this is a form of scapegoating but the problem with this is it is the completely wrong time to scapegoat. Most of the time the police already know who’s drugs they are and by blaming and denning all you are doing is making it where both of you are going to go to jail. Another example that might be easier for you to relate to would be if you and your two siblings are playing and one makes you mad so you punch them, well now you know you are going to get in trouble so if you have the chance are you going to blame it on the other sibling? Probably because scapegoating is something that everyone does at some points in time that is learned from a very early age. Sometimes people consciously scape goat and they know they are lying but sometimes they don’t even notice they are doing
