Many weapons were developed and advanced due to militarism. These advancements could later be used in things like automobiles and planes. Perhaps the most tragic impact of WWI was another war – WWII. The Second World War was caused by many things. The first being the resolution of WWI, the Treaty of Versailles, being excessively harsh in the eyes of the Germans. Germans were required to take full responsibility for the war. This meant that they had to pay large sums of money to the members of the Triple Entente and give up any land gained in the war. Also, they were forced to have a small military so they couldn 't cause another war. These things caused economic despair in Germany. As you would expect, the Germans were angered by this treaty. A man named Adolf Hitler was able to use this anger to gain the support of the German people and rise to power. Previously a German soldier during WWI, he used skillful speech-craft to inspire the German people to support him. Women were heavily involved in WWII, serving as manufacturers of weaponry, nurses to the wounded, and keepers of the household while the men were gone. The women being able to successfully perform these things caused people to view women in as more useful and valuable. Finally, WWII brought many new technologies about. While of course, many weapons were developed, there were other things developed which benefited the average civilian. Plastics and Penicillin were both developed as a result of WWII. Also, the knowledge of nutrition increased, causing people to eat healthier diets. Many other positive advancements were made technologically. In conclusion, both of these massive wars had results which were not expected. Many things which these wars resulted in were actually positive things. Yes, no sane person wants another war like these ones to occur but the wars were not solely negative. Many wars are necessary as wrong-doing needs to be ended. Obviously it 's preferable that no atrocities be committed in the first place, but this is not the world we live
