White really wanted the monkey's paw so he can grant himself the three wishes that the monkey’s paw allows the person that possesses it to have. Mr. White was thinking only of how he could benefits from those three wishes. He was thinking what he could do or what he could have. Him and his wife seem like good people until the obtained possession of the monkey’s paw. They now felt like they had all the power in the world but they only had three wishes.
Mr. White’s first wish was for two hundred pounds. Herber is the one that suggest this amount because they can pay off their home with this money. Ten days after Herbert’s work accident, Mrs. White has to push Mr.
White to use one of the wishes to bring their son back to life. At first, it seemed like he wanted to keep all the wishes to himself, but he is reluctant to use the wish to do this because he thinks Herbert will not be the same if they bring him back to life. Mr. White knows that Herbert was mangled beyond recognition and his body has been rotting for those ten days. Mr.
White uses his second wish to ask for his son to be brought back to life. I thought he was going to be greedy with his wishes but he was afraid of what his son was going to come back as since he knows it can’t be
