As these forests are being depleted for wood supply, or more living space for humans and the animals that used to live there are left with nothing. Tiger and gorillas specifically, are not adapting to these rapid changes and are killed off during the process. Smaller animals can adapt better to these changes because it is easier for them to migrate to a different area; tigers and gorillas on the other hand are larger animals and a suitable environment may not be available for them so they are left with no place to go. Another example of species going extinct is the rhino. Many rhinoceroses are being hunted for their horns because they can be sold for a great value. Hunters over-hunt these rhinos and they are not given any time to repopulate. This results in a constant decrease in rhino population and they will eventually go extinct because of the mass hunting. These endangered animals can’t do anything about their situation, so we as humans can help solve their problem. For cases where their ecosystems are being destroyed, we can have laws set to stop deforestation or slow it down so that these species have time to move to a new home and adapt there …show more content…
How is global warming caused? Many different factors cause global warming and these factors combined cause a huge disturbance around the world. Various forms of pollution add to global warming which includes any form of transportation, whether it is boats, trucks cars or airplanes. Another type of pollution is the supply of energy around the world. Power plants emit vast amount of pollutants into the atmosphere and into the water. One last example is the forestry and agriculture industries. As we cut down trees to create more space, carbon dioxide builds up in the atmosphere which traps heat inside the earth’s atmosphere. This increase in temperature impacts the environment in various ways. For example, as the earth’s temperature rises, ice in the arctic regions melt which adds to the water levels around the world. This causes flooding in cities or environment at or below sea level. This can destroy homes and people’s property and destroy animal’s homes, killing them or forcing them to leave and find somewhere else to live. The carbon dioxide build up causes a change in the weather by increasing the amount of heat waves around the globe. This results in an increase in hot days throughout the year and less colder days. These hotter days per year affect the food industry in that certain crops cannot survive the hotter temperature which does not allow us to grow them anymore. So,
