Introduction:
One of the challenges affecting the medical world is antibiotic resistance. This is a concern because antibiotics have been used for decades to treat hundreds of diseases. I was able to find two articles that go over this issue. The first one was found on http://www.cdc.gov/drugresistance/about.html and the second on http:/x/www.medicinenet.com/antibiotic_resistance/article.htm. These articles are informative. They help answer some of the important questions about this issue.

Critical research is now being conducted to improve antibiotics. This is accomplished, according to the FDA through more cautious use of antibiotic drugs and through monitoring outbreaks of drug-resistant infections. The FDA 's National Center for Toxicological Research is studying the mechanisms of resistance to antibiotic agents among bacteria from the human gastrointestinal tract. They have just too many different ways of overcoming antibiotics. On top on that there’s also human error to think about. I liked how two articles quoted statistics. Numbers are undeniable. It’s shocking to see just how many people are infected by a antibiotic resistant microbe each year. The good news is that this problem has global attention. We can see efforts being made all around the world to find a solution so a to avoid a pandemic. I’m in good spirits that one day very soon we will find what we are looking for and we will make headway in conquering antibiotic resistant
