Cuba was one of the few communist countries on the western side of the world, and it was very close to the United States, and that worried the US tremendously. America made a few attempts to impede Cuba from their communist ways. The Cuban nation wasn’t having it. Che Guevara said in a speech addressed to the UN ”And Cuba reaffirms once again the right to maintain on its territory the weapons it deems appropriate, and its refusal to recognize the right of any power on earth — no matter how powerful — to violate our soil, our territorial waters, or our airspace.” Che Guevara was a God send to the Cuban people; he was a well-spoken man fighting for what he and his people believed. Unlike Herberg, Steele wasn’t a conformist; he chose to question his country’s actions and even insult it a little. “The concept of loyalty as conformity is a false one. It is narrow and restrictive, denies freedom of thought and of conscience... . What do men know of loyalty who make a mockery of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights?” He feels as if America has diverged from their constitutional, for the right of the people objective they were perusing just a few decades ago. That was probably the first time America tried to proselytize its population, and the chunk of individuals realized and acted on it. You see because in the monarchy days anyone who would defile his majesty’s wishes was jailed or king. Here in the U.S., Steele and many others had the freedom of speech so that they could fight back with non-violence. The Cold War was a race of ideologies as much as it was a tech race and an arms race. Because of the pressure to be first, America and the Soviet Union had a heap of new discoveries and achievements. Some of which include the first satellite in space, first man on the moon, the laser, rocket ship, Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, and many more inventions. In turn,
