I firmly believe that when the genitals are formed and hormones travel throughout the body in the womb those certain masculine and feminine characteristics and instincts are indeed adopted. I am still curious to find the link or point of communication that extends beyond the womb. I feel science has proved to us the process that takes place within the womb accurately but not what happens into childhood. Elizabeth Glaeser, a student with the The New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development concluded that, the “cure” for the gender problem must be related to on a case-by-case basis until more neurological information is available to actually “test” for such a discord between brain and body (Glaeser). This conclusion was made due to sufficient evidence being …show more content…
It seems as if after the famous Dr. Money conducted his research that the field abandoned efforts to continue research. I have searched through journals, books, and countless websites and can’t find any information that has been conducted recently. The SDN-POA theory I feel was a lead, but there has been no significant evidence to show that it makes a difference in the human body. I think that the biological approach was very demanding and if you want to prove something scientifically that it has to survive test and support theories and this has not been the case. I have noticed that social psychologist jobs are easier in making a theory because socially this is all subjective and the only trial and error is human testimony, scientist do not have this luxury. I have had a very strong stance that biology was the only factor in determining gender identity but beyond the womb I feel that socially some humans are conflicted and confused. If biology was the only factor then it would impossible to have so many human variations in sexuality but we see that we have a population that is very diverse and can’t be categorized biologically at this time beyond genitalia. There is no evidence that can tell if a man or woman was, or is homosexual or heterosexual and I believe that until that is proven that there will always be an argument with multiple
