Most people don't know how or where there clothing is produced. No one questions them, which is what makes name brands so wealthy and popular. Little do people know, most clothing is produced in sweatshops. Sweatshops are factories in foreign countries that companies pay to produce their clothing with very few expenses. They pay workers less than minimum wage. Most sweatshop workers get paid one cent per hour. The factories that these people work in would be shut down immediately if they were here in the United States. They're extremely horrible and contain unsanitary conditions, causing a lot of workers to become ill. The air is tremendously polluted, affecting the health of workers. To make things worse, workers work up to one hundred hours per week, that's approximately double the hours worked here.

Companies that build sweatshops do this in order to save money, there's no law that tells them how it should be built. Most buildings that are considered "sweatshop factories" are not built originally as factories. They are known to easily collapse due to their inability to maintain a large amount of people and all the vibrations from the sewing machines. The buildings don't go through regular maintenance; it's just a waste of money to the companies. They're the most unsanitary buildings. Buyers of these name brands wouldn't even dare to take a step into them, however they will most definitely take a shirt made from them.
