In the late 20th century, the United States was faced with a major political dilemma that left a negative impact on the country. The United States and Saudi Arabia had a system of trade in which the Saudis would purchase weapons from America and America would receive oil from their country. They seemed to have a great relationship with each other but that soon disturbed by an evil man from their country. One Saudi Arabian man going by the name of Osama Bin Laden, who was seen as a terrorist in his own country, declared war on the state of Washington in the United States. He believed that the U.S. didn’t respect their religion so he called for jihad on them. “Jihad”, meaning a war struggle against unbelievers, was what Bin Laden had done. He believed they were polluting his country with their people, stealing their resources while murdering his people as well. He mentions in his Declaration of Jihad, “The people of Islam have been afflicted with oppression, hostility, and injustice by the Judeo-Christian alliance and its supporters”. They all did struggle in their own way. On Europe’s path to try and imperialize Africa, they came in contact with many problems. They dealt with not having the same amount of weapons as did the Africans, and they had to manage living in a continent where they could not get around because diseases crept up on them and unfortunately Europeans were not immune to them like Africans were, and started dying off rapidly. At this time, Europe was not at its most powerful. As well as the United States, in which they had to focus on Osama Bin Laden as well as the country of Saudi Arabia as a whole. They faced issues on how to deal with them. The United States dealt with attacks from Osama Bin Laden that put their country in a very vulnerable position, making them go to war with other countries that held followers of Bin Laden. Although there are negatives of them while trying to dominate their power, these nations still fought their hardest to keep that dominate
