Being a member of several committees such as the Student Services Leadership, Certified Emergency Response Team, SACS Accreditation Committee; the college’s Disability Services Counsel and others only reinforced my decision to become more than I was. Toward the end of my career I served at the Veterans Advisor where I worked with other veterans helping them to navigate the College Enrollment Process and to assist them when they are having trouble difficulties making the change from military to civilian life. For many service men and women their military careers that have little or no value in the civilian workplace, severe medical issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); devastating physical injuries have left many without the hope or desire for additional education to provide highly skilled positions for themselves and their families. It was at this time in my life that my former supervisor saw my talents and encouraged me to come to University of North Texas to complete my Bachelor Degree and continue my education further into a Master’s Program to be all I could be.
So why do I want to continue my education here at UNT? That’s easy to answer – the outstanding faculty in the higher education program who are widely recognized as experts
