They’re many reasons why I want to attend Arlington Catholic High School. The school’s motto is “Accept the Challenge” and I am up for that. Ever since I was little I dreamed about college and hopefully getting into the medical field. I think this school with help me try to find the right path in life and help me succeed. I am a big fan of the academics and if accepted, I will take advantage of all the great classes.…
The early college program is a unique opportunity that allows “ students to extend high school by one year in order to earn both their diploma and up to 62 college credits from Muskegon Community College (MCC) at no cost to the student.” To me, the opportunity provided by mcc would help me achieve my goal of obtaining a phD in astrophysics. To be able to have earned an associate's degree will put me ahead of other students in both time, money, and college experience. Both in school and in my personal time i am a creative individual. I enjoy expressing myself through various artistic forms such as writing, drawing and cosplay.…
If I could go back to the past and talk to myself in September 2013, I would tell my younger self to be prepared for the next four years. I would advise myself to plan out my work and actually do assignments ahead of time instead of putting them off until nine o'clock the night before they were due. I would tell myself to not take honors trig because it was too much to handle combined with all of my other classes, as well as saying, that just because it was recommended to take a class, it doesn't mean I should've. I would recommend actually trying to do the workouts for field hockey before preseason. That way it wouldn't be so bad in the future.…
Prepping for College In the fall semester of 2018, I will be going to college at Western Technical College to become an elementary school teacher. My first semester of college will hopefully go great but it doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will. I might struggle with classes and professors or I might not be good at getting my work done on time.…
The first major change that happened in my life was being able to change the major of my studying. When I was studying in my home city, I didn’t have many choices for studying majors after I graduated from high school. However, in the USA, I had the chance to explore many different other majoring options. For example, in Syria, I only had the choice of studying pharmacy. In the United States I had many other choices, such as medical school, pharmacy, dentistry, and many other medical fields’ majors that I can choose from.…
While at a Community College, I have had time to grow and mature into a finer young adult than I came out of High School. I learned to live on my own and take care of myself, while continuing to acquire training and education. It was also a time I took to figure who I am and who I want to be. With that in mind, I have found that I desire to continue growing at a different institution. While I have learned a significant amount of things in my current college and enjoyed every minute of it, I will be graduating from its program soon and wish to explore opportunities elsewhere.…
My life goal is to run my own business in the future. When I imitatively formed a team in school; when I sparked the creative idea of selling Korean hot pot at the party; when I successfully persuade my sponsors to support our conference with free food; when I designed and uploaded my own advertisements online, and saw they were favored again and again; when my limited discount coupons were sold out during the pre-sale – I realized that my blueprint was actually coming true step-by-step and I felt excited about the unknown challenges. However, I’m also well aware that prospective business activities are not as easy as those practices I’ve experienced. Except for business sense and knowledge, critical thinking, which is exactly what I’m trying to improve, plays an important role in the real business world. Mount Holyoke College (MHC) is the place where I can discover what I am truly seeking for.…
My goal as a writer is to become proficient in Spanish by practicing everyday in my…
Personal Statement Draft “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” -Anatole France Throughout my whole life, I have always been an indecisive pessimist. Being Hispanic, I grew up in an environment where my parents had high expectations that intimidated me because I was the oldest of three. My parents have always sacrificed a lot to give us the opportunity to earn a more higher education because they never got the chance to coming from very poor families.…
Growing up, I never expected to have the opportunity to go away to college. I thought I would have no other choice but to attend a community school. Not that there is anything wrong with community college, but my family just did not have the money to send me anywhere else. Although my parents have always supported me in anything I’ve ever done, they never really pushed me to focus on my future. They probably don’t even know what FAFSA is.…
I grew up in what is considered a low income family, but I’ve always wanted to go to college. Before I even understood the concept of degrees, I would tell my parents “I want to go to college for seven years!” because I thought we could just choose how long we could go to college for. As I grew up, my goals became realistic. Instead of being president, however, I now want to do something that involves helping others and educating.…
Advice Dated as College Itself Let’s retire the exhausted mantra, “You need to go to college to be successful.” For many incoming freshman, four years of meticulous studying in high school have fallen short in helping to pick a major. While the world opens its arms to hard working high school graduates, many students have given little thought to a career path, while some are simply burnt out by school. Liz Freedman is the author of “The Developmental Disconnect in Choosing a Major”, an online article published on Penn State’s academic advisory journal “The Mentor.” In her article, Freedman cites a number of statistics such as the 20%-50% of students entering college as “undecided”, and the 75% of students who change their major at least once.…
College Admissions: Personal Statement Throughout our many years of schooling, we are taught the importance of attending post-secondary school. As a result, many students aspire to move onto college after they graduate from high school. Students work through high school to achieve all the requirements that are needed for college and even sometimes, more. This is because depending on the post-secondary school a student chooses, sometimes the ability to be accepted is fairly difficult.…
This is to formally tell you about my resignation. I will be rendering 30 days starting tomorrow until June 1, 2017. I often compare institutions to wildlife. This natural sort of personification helps me analyze my choices in order to make decisions that remain steadfast with my values. In this manner, I envision Georgetown University as a mighty and ancient oak tree. This tree has branches of innovative education that soar upwards and outwards. It rests upon a hill of prestige and shades a valley of immense achievement.…
