In China, males under the age of 14 will not charge unless there was a physical assault. In China physical assault can be charged and punished for a maximum of five years. The meaning for sodomy in this purpose is intercourse between humans anal or oral intercourse. Which may be punishable as criminal offense. In the State of Texas the first sodomy law passed in 1860. In that time it was punishable for five to 15 years. Over the years, the sodomy law has been under much debate and contradictions. In 1960, in Illinois they had to review the statutes. The State was recognizing that heterosexuals were involved oral and anal intercourses. In Bowers v. Hardwick (1986), when Hardwick was having oral sex with another male being consensual. He was arrested and charged with sodomy. The prosecutor decline the case but Hardwich took the suit to federal court, declaring it was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court held the law. It was not until Lawrence v. Texas (2003) the United States Supreme Court made vast decision. The sodomy law was no longer going to be applied to gays and lesbians. The military goes by their own federal legal code. Under this code sodomy is illegal. Also since President Clinton approved for gay and lesbians to serve this county as long as they remain celibate and do not mention their sexual orientation. The policies and laws that intertwine between the military can be tougher in their punishment of same sex acts than sexual violence. The conversations of men being victims of sexual violence is rising, but not nearly enough. This topic still has much to cover and society still keeps it as a secret.
