I feel like the empowering issue of homelessness is not actually discussed as much as issues are being discussed surrounding the current candidates along with the 2016 election as a unit. Both poverty with homelessness can move hand in hand in terms of psychology as well as sociology. For me, I will only focus on the sociological aspects of homelessness, not so much in its psychological sense. The homeless are the “fallout” of our postindustrial economy (Henslin 275). Reading further led me to believe that they are part of a social class, known as the underclass. Welfare, food stamps, and food pantries are their main support. Later, there was a section that perfectly answers the question of homeless mothers entitled “The Feminization of Society”.
I have learned many times during the course of the completion of the project. What probably made this assignment slightly more difficult than intended for me was not only finding the right search terms to be employed, but also finding the right credible sources to work with.
