An achieved status is one that is acquired on the basis of merit; it is a position that is earned or chosen and reflects a person's skills, abilities, and efforts (Crossman, 2017). An example of an achieved status is being a lawyer or a professional athlete since it is something some achieves or is earned. On the other hand, an ascribed status is an involuntary position. It is not earned, but rather something people are either born with or had no control over (Crossman, 2017). An example of an ascribed status are sex, race and nationality. The two major element of social interactions are Status and Role, which is found in every individual belonging to a society. This is why it is interconnected to the structural-function theory, because an individual status and role can be linked to his/her family, school, businesses, government, healthcare, religion and economy; which is also the foundation of a structural-function theory. The Belizean society is like a spider’s web, a person has a role to play in family, school, government etc. Throughout the day, our roles and status change, we play a role when we get up, and when we leave our homes; that role and status change, and it might change several times depending on what we do in life. We can become teachers, students, supervisors, employees, parents, sibling and so many other things in one day. All of these roles and statuses makes our country function as a whole, we contribute one way or another to every aspects of our society, through our social
