In sport, players are generally affected by two main limitations: their own individual fitness capabilities, and the rules and regulations of the game. In modern times however equipment has become a major factor in determining the performance of a player and ultimately the quality of the game.
Commonly understood nowadays to be the world’s most popular sport, soccer is generally played by 2 teams of 11 individuals-the main purpose of the game being to ‘manoeuvre, kick, or head a circular ball into the opposing team’s goal’ [1].
