On Mount Everest there are crazy storms and amazing views. But one of my favorite things to learn and study about is Mount Everest’s wildlife. The plants and animals are beautiful. Ever since I was a kid I’ve always adored the life of animals and plants. Everest was a great place to search for the hardest working wildlife. Wildlife has been here on Earth for decades. Mount Everest has some of the greatest surviving animals on the planet. Now lets get busy and discover some of them.

This bear can be found in forested areas of the Mount, all the way up to an elevation of about 14,000 feet. Recognizable by their shaggy black coats and the distinctive white blaze on their chest. The Himalayan black bear survive the harsh winters of Everest by hibernating during the coldest months. But during the warmer months, Himalayan black bears survive on a diet of leaves, shoots, seeds, insects, nuts, fruits, and occasionally meat.
Himalayan Goral are small members of the bovid family that can be found throughout the Himalayans. They prefer to remain below the timberline of their mountainous habitat. Goral are social animals, living in groups of between four and twelve. Though some Gorals can live in pairs or singly. These animals prefer rugged terrain, and can typically be found on precarious slopes or grassy ridges. When the Himalayan goral feels threatened they will hide in the rock crevices.
Mount Everest has many plants thrive including birch, juniper, blue pines, firs, bamboo. The tree line on Mount Everest id about 5,750m from the base of the mount. Going up the mountain the next zone is the alpine scrub zone, which can sustain limited vegetation. Next going up the mountain is the arctic zone which can sustain no plant life.
