There are three types of irony which is situational irony, dramatic irony and verbal irony. First and foremost is situational irony. Situational irony can be defined as a situation in which the outcome is very different from what was expected. From the novel Animal Farm written by George Orwell, situational irony can be seen when the pigs, Squealer and Napoleon stressed how evil human beings were and yet they turned into everything bad about humans. They said that human beings are evil. They tortured animals, didn't fed the animals and didn't cared for the animals. They rebel and forced their owner, Mr. Jones out from the farm. Everything was going according to plan. They make commandments and rules. They live harmoniously and freely. They have no worries about food and work. It was perfect. However, the pigs, Squealer and Napoleon wanted to control the farm. They wanted to manage the farm. They started to change the commandments little by little. They forced the animals to work harder with little rations. They manipulated and used the other animals for their own benefits. The other animals realized this situation but they cannot do anything about it because of the commandments. Until one day, when they see the pigs act like humans.
