T. Washington and Fredrick Douglass
"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it", Albert Einstein said. Indeed, T. Washington and Fredrick Douglass are two typical examples about this talk. Even thought they were born in the slavery, all of them had several different ways to achieve their goals. I am going to explore some similarities and differences between T. Washington and Fredrick Douglass in this essay.
First of all, their backgrounds are one of the most important topics which all of them did not know when and where they were born. Booker T. The way Booker T. Washington found to eradicate slavery was very different from Douglass. Washington began teaching at Hampton and participated with his wife to raise their funds for building a school in a plantation next to his town. Furthermore, not only continued he to share his experiences which could teach more and more than books did, such as table manners, proper hygiene, diet but also he had taught many different skills of an industry which would help students to make a living better. When he had a presentation, he shared his ideas which white people in southern should come to their black neighbors rather than overseas immigrants to meet their needs and black people should stay in the south and work by themselves. However, Booker Douglass started fighting to be free when he was a young man. He had a fighting with Covey who was a notorious “ Slave breaker ” was about two hours. He thought he would rather be died than be treated anymore. If he had done far away, he would have been proud of himself. At the result, no one in the slavery could be whipped him who had been free.
