9:00, maybe even 10:00? Most teens these days are going to bed between 11:00PM and 12:00AM. Some parents think that the lack of sleep their teen is getting is having a negative impact on their overall grade in school. The website www.smithsonianmag.com, an article states, “... in a statement, the CDC reports that an 8:30 start time would allow teenagers to get the recommended 8.5 to 9.5 hours of sleep a night, so long as they went to bed around 11 PM or 12 AM.” This would mean that any teens that go to bed earlier than the times stated above would allow them to get more than the recommended amount of sleep each night. Sleep - deprived teens participate in more violent and property crime than other teens.” These things can be scary or extremely harmful to a teenager. Sleep is very important to one’s health. If parents want their child to be safe from all dangers, they need to make sure their teen goes to bed at a reasonable time each night.
