If society sees the government and the law treating women differently than they treat men, it will cause society to treat women the same way. If laws are unfair and favor men over women, the people will do the same. If the government treats women differently than they treat men, the people will do the same. Equality starts with the law. Amending these laws to create equality among men and women will create a chain reaction. Once society sees the government treating women fairly the people will follow in the government’s footsteps. The lack of respect for women in the Middle East has caused severe inequality and cruel social stereotypes. Biased laws, unfair pay, and the inability to obtain an education are all roots of this disrespect. Inequality can never fully be fixed, but by changing the way we treat each other we can reduce the effect it has on each other’s lives. Regardless of gender, race, and sexuality, we are all human.
