Federal : Health Canada is an initiative of the federal government of Canada, which governs the overall functioning of the health sector of this vast nation. Health Canada supports the 10 provinces and 3 territories with funding to facilitate financial stability and provides for the needs of each province/territory. Alberta Health Services delivers medical care on behalf of the Government of Alberta's Ministry of Health through 400 facilities throughout the province, including hospitals, clinics, continuing care facilities, mental health facilities and community health sites, while providing a variety of programs and services.
